Thanks to our members, we are proud to offer scholarship and exam reimbursement programs to help students in the Greater St. Louis area pursue their actuarial careers.

EXAM REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM

To help students begin their actuarial journey, SLAC will provide a limited number of exam reimbursements for first time exam takers sitting for Exam P/1 or FM/2. The number of awards given will be subject to funding.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must live or attend school within a 125 mile radius of St. Louis, Missouri

  • Applicant must not be employed in a full-time actuarial position with exam support

  • Applicant must provide proof of exam registration from the SOA or CAS at time of application or upon request after being selected for reimbursement

  • Applicant must not have sat for any prior actuarial exam, regardless of pass/fail result

  • Exam date must be within 3 months of the application date

Award:

  • Recipients will receive a $260 reimbursement of their exam fee.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

To support students pursuing an actuarial career, SLAC will provide a limited number of scholarships for actuarial students in the Greater St. Louis area. The number of awards given will be subject to funding.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must live or attend school within a 125 mile radius of St. Louis, Missouri

  • Applicant must not be employed in a full-time actuarial position with exam support

  • Applicant must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program with a major or emphasis in actuarial science

  • Must have a GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale

  • Applicant must have passed at least one actuarial exam

  • Must be a permanent resident of the United States

Award:

  • Recipients will receive a one-time $1,500 scholarship
